The Fluttering Damsel is the adult damselfly pattern against which all others will be measured.  It casts beautifully, floats in the surface film, is very durable, and looks just like the real deal.  Whether you're fishing a small, weedy pond loaded with damsels or a spring creek lined with cattails, an adult damselfly is a great pattern to use on big, selective trout that have maybe seen one too many ant or grasshopper patterns.  From the famous rivers of Southwest Montana to the lesser-known streams and brooks of the Appalachians, damselflies are a favorite food of big trout throughout the course of the summer.  Make sure to have a few in the box next summer so you can give them a try.  Chances are you won't be disappointed.
