It should be fairly obvious that some of the monster trout we find in the ponds and reservoirs out West don't get fat on chironomids alone.  Damselflies are a main source of food to trout wherever they are found, which is why its never a bad idea to have a few damselfly patterns in your box at all times.  A slow hand-twist while fishing this pattern on a wet-tip line is a surefire way to entice some big trout out of their weedy haunts in lakes and ponds.
