The Beaverhead is Open!
While the river from Clark Canyon Dam downstream to Pipe Organ Bridge will remain closed until the 3rd Saturday of next May, the river from Pipe Organ Bridge downstream to the confluence with the Big Hole is now open to fishing. Most of the river is too low to float currently but should provide some good hopper fishing transitioning to streamer fishing over the next week.
We should emerge from this period of unprecendented closures in the near future. Some precipitation is forecast over the next few days and we will finally see some ditches starting to turn off in a few days allowing for rising flows on the Big Hole and Jefferson River. As flows rise above closure parameters we will cycle into some good fall fishing with cooler weather in the forecast!
