This land/water arrangement is host to many different saltwater game species including bonefish, permit, mutton, barracuda, and shark. Because of Turneffe's unique blend of fast-running gamefish, our travels have taken us there many times. Service is always great-coffe brought to your room every morning-and the accommodations are clean and comfortable. Limited to 12 anglers per week. Saturday - Saturday. 6 day's fishing with 7 night's lodging. Rates vary depending on season.

Tarpon Caye Lodge, Belize
The wilds of Southern Belize are home to the best Permit fishing in the
world! The mystic character of the flats and channels that are found in this region are ideal habitat for a generous food supply and attract both tarpon, and especially Permit from far and wide. You'll stay in comfortable cabanas right on the water and sometimes see shark, Permit, and possibly tarpon swimming right at your doorstep! Tarpon Caye (pronounced Key) is a true fishing camp where waking up at 4:30 is standard fair. You'll be on the water when Permit Tails can be seen, not in an hour or two when others seek out these very productive flats. Very quaint with only six guests at a time. Shorter stays are welcome, but we wouldn't recommend it. You'll want to savor every monment here. It is just that good!

If you are after the best Permit fishing in the world then you need to consider a trip to Tarpon Caye. I have traveled to many places throughout the saltwater world to chase Permit and have not found any place as good as the waters around Tarpon Caye. I have seen more Permit here on a single day then I have in a week at other locations. It is quite something to spot, and fish for over a hundred Permit on any given day. Other Lodges brag about their Permit fishing, and yes they can have their times, but there is no place that I have found where you can reach the flats in 5 minutes (yes, you read that right) and have so many shots at hungry Permit. This is a top spot for everyone that is wanting to catch a Permit on a fly. It is one of my very favorite places on earth to catch them.
