Big Hole River Report 4-24-17

Our Big Hole guides have started spotting March Browns and Gray Drakes.  They have also noted trout moving into slightly swifter water, but still hanging to softer spots.  Some straggler skwalas are emerging and the dry fly bite is there...at times(Chubby #8-12-olive, royal, purple).  Nymphing or droppers with skwala and other stonefly imitations is good (Pat's Rubberlegs #10-Black, Dark Variegated, Olive)

For the mayflies dries in #14 and #16 start to become important (Parachute Adams, Purple Haze).  Generalist droppers are working well too. (Prince Nymph, Pheasant Tail-#14).

The best nymph...still the San Juan worm.............
