The Beaverhead is flat fantastic! A text message I got yesterday from our good friend and famous guide Matt Bryn sums it up well- “Super Great Dy Fly Fishing”. The hopper activity along with the October Caddis, tossing a big size 8 or 10 dry fly can really turn some heads. And if that doesn’t do the trick try the Hopper/Dropper method and drop a small size 18 PT o Zebra Midge off the back. Still my favorite technique has got to be pumping a size 4 or 6 Yuk Bug with a big bushy dry fly on for a “true” dropper. If you can get the hang of this technique you’ll be in fat-city! Nymphing can produce great results but it can be fast and furious fishing Yuks and other favorite rubber legs. The big browns are loving the fall weather and so should you. Come by the shop for the right bug selection. After fishing the river for over 40 yeas we won’t steer you wrong.
